NI Citi Express are launching after noticing a gap in the market for well managed business travel across the UK and Europe. Born on the idea of ‘making life easier’ for their travellers the name NI Citi Express came into play as an extension of the abbreviation NICE. NICE encompasses the entire customer journey and anything from the boarding experience to the coffee served on board should be and is incredibly nice.
Create a modern Airline Identity that resonates with business travel and represents an extended service and streamline experience from purchasing tickets online to arriving at a destination.
A team of 3 designers worked on the craft and strategy for NI Citi Express, looking at everything from hostess uniform designs to seat cover pattern swatches. We had numerous meetings with the owner of the airline to determine possible directions for the plane designs and developed 2 separate schemes for both models that exist in the fleet.
The new brandmark symbolises flight taking off and the upward symbolism has a positive look. It uses the N to create the abstract shape of a plane’s tail and the direction of moving up and moving on. This is very positive and gives the impression of moving, speed express which is important for the NICE brand. The font called Tungsten condensed is also used for NI Citi Express type beside the brand mark. This is a corporate brand mark is modern and contemporary, and it has mileage that doesn’t fit any trends and will be timeless for years to come. The balance between the brand mark and the typography has a corporate professional look.
